Q - How large of a casting can you make?
A – Techni-Cast pours castings ranging from a few pounds, up to 50” diameter and 100” in length. Considering diameter, length and wall thickness, we can pour up to 3000lbs.
Q – Do you pour stainless steel and bronze alloys?
A – Yes, but also irons and nickel alloys, as well as aluminum and many other air meltable metals.
Q – Is Techni-Cast approved to make materials for major OEM’s?
A – Of course. Our products are used across a very broad range of industries. If we’re not making materials currently for a major manufacturer, we have systems that can quickly qualify us.
Q – Does Techni-Cast pour bearing bronzes like SAE 660?
A – Yes we do, as well as many other bronzes suitable for bearing applications. Techni-Cast is best qualified to handle heavy wall sections and large diameters.
Q – Can I get a quick delivery? You know, one that’s a lot sooner than several weeks?
A – Often times we have production time reserved for “breakdowns”. It’s best to call and get a quotation that’s specific to your situation.
Q – Does Techni-Cast pour castings using sand, ceramic or other types of molds?
A – We pour centrifugal castings, in permanent molds, that most often result in a tube or ring shape. Our molds can be adapted to produce custom features, but the part is basically round.
Q – Are there tooling charges?
A – We maintain an exhaustive and proprietary inventory of molds for your use. Occasionally a new mold must be built but there’s never a tooling charge.
Q – Do you machine your castings?
A - Techni-Cast has a complete machine shop offering both rough
machining and finish capabilities. It’s a great way to leave most of
the metal at the foundry location in addition to proving the soundness
of the material early in the process.
Q – Could you provide a unique or custom alloy not covered by industry
specifications?
A - Yes. Our facility has an advanced production met-lab.
We welcome these types of requests.
